Tragedy in Seoul

*** Bill and Sejin have passed away as of today, March 9, 2008. . Thank you for your prayers and support, they will now Rest In Peace and return to light.

A horrible fire has hit the community here in Seoul. The fire codes are not up to par to say the least and a fellow ESL teacher and his girlfriend were victims of a tragic accident last week in an old apartment building. Unfortunately the school where Bill was working didn't offer medical coverage/insurance and now he's in dire need of assistance. A dear friend who teaches with me at my school is in talks with the U.S. Consulate, trying to make waves press-wise and word is getting to CNN soon. Please take a moment and contribute to Bill's fund, he needs a lot of help. I ask for your prayers and financial contributions, any and all. Please read below, it was copied from the facebook group created on his behalf.

Lots of love,

Ella

Last Sunday morning in Seoul, South Korea, Bill Kapoun was seriously injured in an apartment fire. As of right now Bill is in critical condition in a burn unit in a Seoul hospital. 64% of Bill's body is covered in burns. 58 is 3rd and the rest is 2nd degree. He will be needing serious medical care. As of right now he has to have someone in the room 24/7.

Here's where you come in: the medical bills will be at least $100,000 dollars. There is one sister and also three younger brothers all under the age of 20 living at home, along with their grandmother who is also undergoing cancer treatment. As of right now the family has spent $6,000 in plane tickets just so Bill's mother and father go to Korea to be with their son. HIs first surgery had a price tag of $15, 000. This family needs help. They need money.

I know that facebook and myspace consists of mainly college students, and we're poor...BUT! You can make a difference.

Laura, Bill's sister, has set up a charity bank account titled "Help Bill Fund" with Chase Bank. All donations should be tax deductible, and plus it's for an amazing cause for an amazing family. Please, get the word out/request people to join this group on facebook, and check back here for updates and fund raisers that will be going on. You can also send money through paypal.

Bill is an IU Alumni and a member of ACACIA Fraternity. He was in Seoul teaching English. Anything you can give to this family will be extremely appreciated. They need any help you can give.
